Romantic Las Vegas Vacation

Planning a trip can be an exciting and anxiety ridden experience especially when its for your 25th wedding anniversary and you want it to be a romatic vacation. First you have to decide where to go, how your going to get there and how you will get around once you've selected the perfect romatic getaway location. Selecting the proper destination to spend this time together as a couple can be tough especially with all the things to do in las vegas

Where To Stay In Las Vegas For A Romantic Getaway

The minute my wife and I decided that Las Vegas was our destination of choice to spend our 25th Anniversary, that is when the anxiety began.  Las vegas has more hotels, resorts and places to stay than you could ever imagine if you've never been there before.  Prices for rooms in Vegas run from $37 a night to well over $1000 a night for very luxurious suits in some of the most popular five star resorts. The ammenities that are offered have just a big of a range as the price of the rooms that are available making the decisions on where to stay for our vacation that much more difficult.

We began our planning by looking at the hotels and resorts on the las vegas strip that we thought were in our price range and unfortunately they all looked very appealing making our selection of the perfect spot that much harder.  We utilized many online travel reviews of Las Vegas including travelocity, expedia, yahoo travel, and many others.

Las Vegas Travel Review Sites

Travel review sites you would think would make selecting a romantic las vegas hotel much easier but actually we found it to be quite the opposite.  Many of the comments posted by visitors were very helpful and the rating systems used by most of the travel planning sites were excellent but until you really start digging into the individual las Vegas hotel reviews you really can't take them for face value.  We found that many highly rated las Vegas hotel reviews on travelocity, tripadvisor and expedia were outdated, posted by people taking family vacations or singles wanting to just go party in the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas.  We found one hotel that looked like it fit our bill for a romantic vacation that have over 40 excellent reviews and then out of nowhere a recent review appeared complaining about cockroaches in the room and in their luggage.  Now this is something my wife and I'm sure most people taking a romantic vacation absolutely do not want to run across.

Not knowing what each commenter back ground was, the style of rooms they were used too and the level of service they typically expect made the decision on where to spend our Romantic Las Vegas vacation that much harder.  What constitutes quality service, cleanliness and convenient location in my mind could be far different than what others on tripadvisor and travelocity think they are.  We eventually gave way to the recommendations of a dear friend who had recently went to Las Vegas and recommended the Las Vegas Hilton as a good place to stay that was just off the strip, had easy access to local transportation, a reasonable price, decent casino and just about everything we were looking for in a hotel/resort.

Choosing Las Vegas Travel Arrangements

After we had decided upon the hotel for our romantic vacation to las vegas we then had to deal with how to get there, how to get around Las Vegas once we were there and how to find the most affordable way of booking our trip. This however wasn't nearly as difficult as selection our hotel. We were limited in the choice of airport we could fly out of so it was just a matter of finding the cheapest flights to Las Vegas from there.

Getting around in Las Vegas from all the reading we've done doesnt appear to be such a difficult task. There is a monorail that runs the lenght of the strip and stops at many of the most recognized restorts and casinos along the way. There is also a public bus that runs the strip and downtown area making similar stops at the most popular Vegas destination. As you can see we've decided not to rent a car, I sure hope this doesn't come back to haunt us in the end.

Well the arrangements are Finally done. 6days 5 nights in the Las Vegas Hilton, flights booked and tickets received, and transportation ideas worked out. I am feeling pretty good with all the work, research and decisions we have made so far. Now we have to decide what show we want to see, what things we want to visit, how much were going to gamble, where do we need to make reservations for dinner and so forth. I thought choosing a romantic vacation in Las Vegas was a good idea now I'm not so sure. Perhaps we should have just taken a cruise, lol. I'll add another hub later as we arrive in Las Vegas to let everyone know my thoughts on the Las Vegas Hilton.

Romance is one place where everyone needs help. No one wants to look like a deceive, especially before someone they are trying to woo.
