Welcome to Fort Wayne Overlooked my lense where I'll discuss the hometown I grew up in and point out some of the things people may or may not know about the great town of Fort Wayne Indiana.
Fort Wayne Attractions
Fort Wayne while not the most exciting city in the midwest does have quite a few things to offer for those living in Norhern Indiana as well as those looking for a friendly city as a travel destination. Those looking to travel to Fort Wayne will find convenient access to our city by flying into Fort Wayne International Airport.
Fort Wayne boasts one of the top children's zoo's in the country. This year the Fort Wayne Children's zoo has launched its new African Safari. This new addition to the zoo wil house some highly recognized african animals including Lions, hyenas, zebras, leopard, ostrich, monkeys, and wildebeest . They will also be joined by some rare and unusual African animals, including honey badgers, great white pelicans, and bat-eared foxes. So if you happen to be in the area dont forget to check out the zoo at Fort Wayne. It's a great place for kids and adults alike.
Fort Wayne is also the home of the Tin Caps a class A minor league baseball team (formerly known as the Wizards) and associated with the San Diego Padres organization. The Tin Caps have consistently been in the top of their division and in addition to their new name they have a brand new stadium located in downtown Fort Wayne.
If your a hockey fan you have probably heard of the Fort Wayne Komets who have just recently won the Turner cup for the second straight year. The Komets were established in 1952 and have a long standing history of championships in the International Hockey League.
Fort Wayne Colleges & Universities
Fort Wayne has plenty to offer those looking to futher their education beyond high school with some great universities and community collegest. Probably the most well known is IPFW the Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne campus where you can get a degree from either Indiana University or Purdue. They offer a wide selection of coursed to accomodate just about any educational need you might have.
The University of Saint Francis offers one of the finest nursing schools and medical theropy schools in Indiana as well as top notch programs in Visual Arts communication and business. Other colleges include IVY tech, Indiana Institute of Technology, ITT-Technial Institute and several other fine community colleges serving students from Fort Wayne and throughout Northern Indiana.

Indiana's second largest city has a lot of businesses that are both recognized throughout the state as well as the nation. Several top companies like Lincon Finanacial, BAE, General Electric, ITT, General Motors and many others are located in or near the city.
